We've got our Crib and Dresser in

Well, this was exciting - We went down to Goores on Saturday to get the stroller that matches our infant car seat.  We had waited until they were having a sale - 16% off this week. My mother-in-law, Joan, had graciously offered to let use her truck, so I went over to the Furniture section to cancel our delivery.  Lo and behold, both our Crib and Dresser had come in!  When we ordered it, they said 6-8 weeks, but apparently they got in a shipment.  We got a hold of Joan and arranged to have her bring her pickup down today.

I got everything home and our nice neighbor helped us get everything into the house.  Actually he did most of the work - he had a big moving dolly which made things a snap.
Our New Crib and Dresser
The crib and dresser combo are from Baby's Dream.  The crib was not that difficult to put together, and it's very solid workmanship.  This is solid wood, not just a veneer.  The dresser can be turned upside down to serve as a changing table as well, but since I already built one, we're using it to hold a bunch of stuff.

The baby's room is now good to go.  We've installed additional shelves, we have the changing station, crib and dresser.  Looking around the baby's room and the house, we're packed to the gills with baby stuff.  Between all the great hand-me-down stuff that our friends have given us, the baby showers, our gift-card fueled shopping spree, and Joan's regular thrift store finds, we hardly have room to stow everything.  I have this sense of pressure building, as though a tornado is coming . . . As I trip over bouncers and bend around baby swings, I realize that this is only the calm before the storm.  Soon a little twister named Celerity will descend upon our little farmhouse and send us spinning off into Baby-Oz.  I will never be able to walk barefoot again.

Baby Update
No baby yet.  Dodi is having appointments every other day until the baby is born.  Our working plan is to induce on Friday, barring natural delivery prior to that.  Thus far Dodi is showing no signs of labor, but she is getting pretty tired of lugging the baby around in her tummy.
