Advertising Inoculation

I caught this great little story about inoculating your kids to advertising on The Consumerist.

"As I paused my shopping cart in front of the cleaning supplies, Andy said, “Mom, aren’t we going to buy some Clorox?” I stared in surprise at my child because, although he was pointing straight at the Clorox, I knew he wasn’t able to read."

I've always said that, growing up without a TV, I lack the immunity to it.  I can't concentrate when a TV is on in the room, I pretty much HAVE to watch it.  I don't imagine that I'll be able to raise my daughter without a TV, so it makes sense to teach her early about the hazards.  Critical thinking is a skill anyone can learn.
